Really, are we there yet??

 

On the road again ... just can't wait to get on the road again -- seriously, who would write such stupid words?  Today began much the same as yesterday ... later than we planned, but after gassing up the minivan, we were off to our destination of New Orleans, Louisiana -- a mere 508 miles away!

After approximately, 17 potty breaks, DVD changes, sleeping bag "tent" rearrangements, snack and drink deliveries, we made it across our first state line.  Joy really enjoys pulling onto the side of the highways, so I can get the kids out of the car (thus disrupting the DVD cords, and the sleeping bag tents, not to mention the occasional sleeping child) while trucks are speeding past at 80mph to make them climb through debris and mile high grass for a picture!  We also got to re-live an hour of our lives when we crossed into Alabama, because we also crossed into the Central Time Zone!

 We were overjoyed to see a Krispy Kreme sign on the highway, and even happier once we got off the interstate and followed the directions 3 miles to the store that the HOT sign was lit up -- I would have paid $100.00 for those yummy hot glazed gems, but they were a bargain at $6.38!

 We finally made it to the "Big Easy" by early evening, checked into our hotel, jumped in the pool for a quick dip and even managed to fix our kids' TV withdrawl symptoms before going to sleep! Laissez les bon temps rouler!
