The Big Easy Day 2

We headed north of New Orleans to Slidell, LA for our Cajun Encounters Swamp Tour --  a 2 hour tour of a swamp complete with marshmallow eating alligators.  Captain Mike was not fond of us Yankees, but still provided us with a great tour complete with many unverifiable facts about swamplife!  The kids loved seeing the alligators, an occasional egret, some turtles and a lizard.  Everyone had the chance to hold a baby alligator as well!

Hannah and I got to eat at Emeril Lagasse's flagship restaurant.  When we entered the restaurant, two waiters showed us to our seats, pulled out our chairs and placed our napkins on our laps -- Hannah says, "this is fancy kind of like the Olive Garden"!  Later, she told me that I should take a picture of the bathroom because it was so fancy!  She was thrilled to be at a 5 star restaurant and behaved so well, I almost mistook her for Emily Post.  I did not even know that she knew how to use silverware, let alone figure out which fork to use at the appropriate time!  We both had a very special evening with yummy, yummy food -- it was the perfect way to end our time in New Orleans.  In contrast while Joy and the kids were eating at the Wendy's by our hotel, Charlie slipped on the wet floor, a homeless man proposed to Olivia, and they accidentally put onions on Joy's burger!
